In the last letter to the churches in the book of Revelation, Jesus says:
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
One of the most impactful symbols in our new logo at Morgan Hill Bible Church is the image of the door formed by the negative space of the “h.” Doors are entryways and they also protect. Just a few days ago I installed a “smart” doorbell at my home to track who comes to my door. I now get images as people approach and warnings on my phone.
I installed the smart doorbell to protect my door but the symbol in our logo is a wonderful reminder that Jesus approaches protected places in my life and wants to bring truth, conviction, healing, grace and life. It isn’t hard now to imagine Jesus showing up to knock at the door of an area of my life he wants to enter into.
Is there a door in your life Jesus is standing in front of and knocking on? Is there an area you have been protecting which needs his truth, grace and power? As you read this, I invite you to take a few deep breaths and prayerfully ask Him where He is nocking and invite Him in. Even if it is difficult, it will only be good.

I am grateful now for two constant reminders of Jesus’ desire to be in every area of my life. I have that new doorbell and with each notification, I pause to pray. I also have our new church logo which reminds me to do the same thing.
