The Church is not a location. It's not a building. It's a gathering. A community. A group of people who are partnering together for the purpose of connecting people into a vital relationship with Jesus Christ. What is each person's role in that?

What does it mean to be a part of a church? Many churches refer to this as membership. But the problem with "membership" is that it usually comes with benefits. What do we get out of this? That's not what Christ intended for His Church.

Marriage is not romance with the bonus of friendship. Marriage is supposed to be friendship with the bonus of romance. Is your husband or your wife your best friend? If you're single, are you looking for someone who could be your best friend?

When we own something, it becomes a reflection of who we are. Christ Jesus has made you His own. He who knows everything you've done and everything you will do has made you His own and you are a reflection of who He is.

There are moments in every marriage—EVERY marriage—where walls are insurmountable and destructive. The walls that are built between a husband and wife end up affecting the whole family and will even spill out into relationships outside of the home. It's easy to convince ourselves that it's our spouse's fault but it's not true. It starts in our own hearts.
